Your training for September to October

Next cycle, we'll have an exciting training outline.  Find your section below based on your belt.  When you're done, please scroll all the way to the bottom:

White, Orange, and Yellow Belts:
Orange Belt form (Songahm 2, Orange DVD/ Manual/ page in the black belt curriculum book), sparring drills (which means the students will learn how to defend punches and kicks), self-defense techniques (so the students will learn how to defend against grabs), and board breaking to test students' power.  At testing, the students will demonstrate the Songahm 2 form and 2 self-defense techniques.  The students may need handgear, footgear, and an ATA basic bag for disciplined storage of important gear.  Ask an instructor for information on the "Bronze Equipment Package."

Camo, Green, Purple, Blue, Brown, and Red Belts:
Green Belt form (Songahm 5, Green DVD/ Manual/ page in the black belt curriculum book), sparring drills (which means the students will learn how to defend punches and kicks), self-defense techniques (so the students will learn how to defend against grabs), and board breaking to test students' power.  At testing, the students will demonstrate the Songahm 5 form and 2 self-defense techniques.  The students may need handgear, footgear, an ATA basic bag for disciplined storage of important gear, facemask with headgear, mouthpiece (and a case for disciplined storage of important gear), and chest protector.  Males will need a protective cup.  Ask an instructor for information on the "Silver Equipment Package" or "Silver Upgrade Package."

Recommended Black Belts (Red/ Black Belts):
Orange Belt form (Songahm 2, Orange DVD/ Manual/ page in the black belt curriculum book), Green Belt form (Songahm 5, Green DVD/ Manual/ page in the black belt curriculum book), and self-defense techniques to defend against weapon attacks (short stick).  At testing, the students will demonstrate the Songahm 5 and Songahm 2 forms and self-defense scenarios.  The students may need handgear, footgear, an ATA basic bag for disciplined storage of important gear, facemask with headgear, mouthpiece (and a case for disciplined storage of important gear), and chest protector.  Males will need a protective cup.  They may also choose to own a short stick for at-home training and pride in training with their own equipment.

First Degree Black Belts (1BD):
1st Degree Form (Shim Jun, First Degree Black Belt DVD/ Manual), Single Bahng Mahng Ee Form (Protech Section, First Degree Black Belt DVD), and self-defense techniques to defend against weapons attacks (short stick).  At testing the students will demonstrate the Entire 1st Degree Form and Entire Single Bahng Mahng Ee form and self-defense scenarios.  If a student is learning the two forms for the first time, their requirements are only the 2nd half of the forms without the first half (left side of Bahng Mahng Ee Form).  The students may need headgear and facemask, groin cup, and a single bahng mahng ee for this cycle (short stick).

Second Degree Recommended Black Belts (2BR):
1st Degree Form (Shim Jun, First Degree Black Belt DVD/ Manual), Single Bahng Mahng Ee Form (Protech Section, First Degree Black Belt DVD), and self-defense techniques to defend against weapons attacks (short stick), creative board breaking (two arm techniques and one kicking technique), and sparring.  They will be required to perform all of these things at testing.  Please see an instructor to schedule 2 free private lessons.  NOTE:  the private lessons are not PRO-lessons.  PRO-lessons are for provided world-class training and secret techniques that would otherwise be taught in a group class over a long period of time (about three years) in one or multiple short lessons.

Second Degree Black Belts (2BD):
2nd Degree Black Belt Form (Jung Yul, Second Degree Black Belt DVD), Ssahng Nat Form (Class-only), and sparring drills (which means the students will learn how to defend punches and kicks).  At testing, they will be required to perform the 2nd Degree Black Belt Form and Ssahng Nat Form.

Third Degree Black Belts (3BLK):
3rd Degree Black Belt Form (Chung San, Third Degree Black Belt DVD), Ssahng Nat Form (Class-only), and sparring drills (which means the students will learn how to defend punches and kicks).  At testing, they will be required to perform the 3rd Degree Black Belt Form and Ssahng Nat Form.

If a student begins to struggle with memorization or quality of technique in the middle of the cycle, contact an instructor immediately.  We are committed to your success and want to see every single student accomplish this next cycle and test on October 21st and 22nd.  Group Lessons will be added to the schedule for students are behind in the scheduled curriculum!
